Thank you for your interest in Temple Baptist Church!  We know that in our area, you have an abundance of choices in the church you select.  We are honored you have taken the first step in learning more about the ministry here.

Temple Baptist Church began in June of 1971. And for over forty years now, we have experienced the miraculous blessings of God.  The Lord has provided at every turn – even in the face of many impossible situations.

Our desire is to see folks come to Christ, grow in their relationship with Christ, and learn to use their talents for Christ.  We understand that the happiest believers are those who have found their God-given interests and talents, and are using those for His glory.

At Temple Baptist Church, we offer many different areas of service for that very purpose.  We want everyone who calls Temple “home” to be involved in one way or another.

Temple Baptist Church is an independent church.  Simply meaning, we are autonomous in all the decisions concerning this local body of believers.  We look to no one but the Lord God for the direction He would have us go.  We do this through the study of His Word, the Bible, and through the leadership of His Holy Spirit.

God has blessed us with the very best of facilities.  From our baby nursery to our senior adult meeting room, there is something here for every age.  We have vibrant children and teens ministries, as well as many avenues for adults of all ages to be involved.

Approximately twice per year, we offer what we call “A Taste of Temple.”  This is a three session class that is designed to answer all the questions you may have about our church.  The class covers everything from the very practical (a tour of the facilities), to the very essential (our doctrinal beliefs).  We offer the class to anyone who would like to know more about Temple Baptist Church.  We do not put any expectation or pressure for membership on anyone who attends the class.  Our desire is to help individuals and families find the church where God wants them.  Our hope is that Temple will be your church home, but we understand that is not always the case.

Keeping with the theme of “A Taste of Temple,” we also offer “Lunch with the Pastor.”  Our Pastor, J.D. Surbaugh and his wife, Barbara, enjoy taking prospective church members to lunch following a Sunday morning service.  It is an informal time to get to know our Pastor better, and learn more about the ministries here and his vision for Temple.

Thank you again for looking into Temple Baptist Church.  Please let us know if we can serve you in any way, and may God bless you as you seek to follow Him!

Steps In Talking with a Child About God’s Plan for Salvation

By | Elementary Sunday School

1. God loves you and has a great plan for you (Psalm 139:13-16). Talk about these truths: God made the world, God made people, God made you, God wants to have a relationship with people, and God wants to have a relationship with you. Say, “Tell me one way you know God loves you.”

2. We have all sinned (Romans 3:23). Everyone must understand that he is separated from God. Sin is best understood as choosing to do things our way instead of God’s way. (Give some examples of sin such as disobedience, ungratefulness, untruthfulness, etc.) Then ask the child: “Have you sinned? What does God think about sin?” Point out that everyone has sinned.

3. Even though we choose to sin, God still loves us and offers to forgive us (Romans 5:8). Ask, “How do you think it makes God feel when you sin?” Focus on the fact that God loves the child even when he sins. Say: “God promised that one day a Savior would come and not sin and would die for all people. Do you know who that Savior is? Did you know that He died for you?”

4. Jesus died for us (John 3:16). Talk about John 3:16 and explain that because sin separates people from God, everyone needs a Savior. Ask, “Do you know why Jesus died?” Say, “Jesus loved you so much. He willingly died for you, so you could be with God forever.” If the child is old enough to understand the resurrection, say, “Jesus rose from the dead, so we could have eternal life.”

5. You can become a Christian by confessing that Jesus is your Savior and Lord (Romans 10:9). Ask, “Would you like to be a Christian?” State that the word confess means to say that Jesus is your Savior and that you must:
Admit you have sinned
Believe that Jesus is God’s Son
Confess that Jesus is Savior and Lord.

Encourage a child to tell you in his own words what he understands and believes. Either ask the child to repeat a prayer after you or help the child know what to say in his prayer. After the prayer, read Romans 10:13 and remind him that this verse is a promise. Jesus will be his Savior forever. Share with him/her several verses on assurance of salvation.

Missions Moments

By Carolyn Cole

Recently, I have had the opportunity to converse with Michael Petkof and Caleb and Benjamin Crocker.  What a blessing it was to listen as these three young men shared their dreams and plans for the future.

Michael is the son of Mike and Linda Petkof, our missionaries to Greece.  Michael shares his father’s outgoing personality and is beginning to explore the possibilities that may exist for him in missionary work. He has attended Greek schools, and will quickly tell you that he is Greek.  He loves the Greek food and way of life.  Michael explained that as a Christian, he is in the minority at his school.  But that has not kept him from making many friends; and as his friendships develop, he is able to share his Christianity.

As per the Journal of twomeyautoworks.com prescription female viagra Sexual Medicine, men that work out 18 MET (metabolic equivalents) or more a week had notably better sexual function than men that are usually inactive. The dosage is quite simple of the pill. This impotency or erectile dysfunction disorder is a men affected syndrome which causes the deficiency in cialis prescription sexual activity.

Caleb and Benjamin Crocker, sons of Ray and Ginger Crocker (missionaries to Singapore) will be attending Pensacola Christian College this fall.  Caleb will be preparing for the ministry and Benjamin will be in the criminal justice program.  Both men are eager to begin this new phase of their lives.  But they were quick to share how they would miss Singapore, especially the different cuisines.

What a blessing to know that the Petkofs and Crockers are not only reaching the lost in Greece and Singapore, but that God has used them to inspire their sons to be Christ’s ambassadors wherever He leads them in the future.
