International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church

Sunday, November 14, 2010

Prayer is the number one request of more than 100 million persecuted Christians around the globe.  Our brothers and sisters in Christ are suffering because they believe the Gospel—some have not eaten for days because they have been given nothing to eat…some are in prison…some have watched their homes burn to the ground…some are enduring physical pain because they are beaten and tortured for their faith…some have lost their loved ones or are facing death because they refuse to denounce Christ.  Christian families and children are living in constant fear of violence.

The number one prayer request of these dear brethren is not that the persecution will stop but that they will remain faithful to Christ in spite of the persecution and pressure they face.  Will we remain faithful in praying for the persecuted church?

Hebrew 13:3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
