Clowns For Christ

By | Clowns for Christ, Ministry Updates

Dear Faithful Prayer Partner,

What a summer from June until the middle of August. It seemed like we got home and turned around and headed out again. Our first trip to Mexico was to the Yucatan Area of Mexico to a small village, Kankabchen. There was no place to stay in the village so we stayed in Moreles, Mexico. Each morning we would get up and head out to Kankabchen, a forty-five minute drive. The pastor in Kankabchen is Pastor Eleasar at Mission Baptist Tempo El Boen Samaritano.

We presented a clown program each day during Bible school. On Thursday night Jimmie had a chance to preach at the church. Church was to begin at 6:00 pm. We arrived at 5:45 and no one was there, not even the pastor. The pastor arrived at 6:45 and the congregation started to arrive from 6:45 to 7:15. Church started at 7:15. Be flexible that is the Mexican way.

We gave out 145 pair of flip flops, toys, games, and coloring books with crayons that were donated by the adult Sunday school classes at Temple Baptist. We also were able to give out dresses to many of the girls that were given by Dress a Girl Around the World organization. Thanks to all who gave.

We saw a number of souls saved and lives changed during this trip.

We headed home to unpack and then a week later we pack up again to go to Mexico City to work with Capital Baptist Church pastored by Ed Hoagland, a missionary that our church supports. The Hoagland’s were at their youth camp during the week we were there. We had the opportunity to work with Bernado and Ashley a couple who work at Capital Baptist. Bernado is the youth Pastor at Capital Baptist and Ashley works with him holding a Bible study once a week in a home of one of their members. Ashley also works with several ladies groups at the church. They were a pleasure to work with.

We also had a chance to go to one of their feeding centers to do a program and give out dresses from Dress a Girl Around the World. What a great work the Hoagland’s are doing there in Mexico.

We had a great week with 4 adults saved on Sunday at the service for the parents of the children attending Bible School. During Bible school we had a number of children saved and some rededicated their lives to Christ.

As always we will be prepared for whatever the schedule calls for. Many times things change even at the last minute and you always need to be flexible. It will be one of those long flights that are not much fun. We praise the Lord that He has called us to a new country to share Christ. As always we covet your prayers. If you would like to help with these expenses, you can send a check made out to Temple Baptist Church with Clowns for Christ in the memo section. Mail it to Jimmie Long, Temple Baptist Church, P.O. Dear Friends,

We came back from our two week mission trip to Texas and found the aftermath of a bad wind storm. Many thousands were without power including ourselves. We finally got our power back after 5 days without it. We were very thankful. Many in the area still are without power as we write this letter.

We thank you for your prayers for our trip. We had the opportunity to see over 20 people come to Christ. We had a lady and her teenage daughter come forward in one meeting. We went door to door in our clown outfits to invite people to come to our Bible school and had the opportunity to lead a family of 5 to Christ in their front yard. They came the next day to the program where we were able to introduce them to the pastor who will do follow up. God is so good to allow us to be a partner with you in seeing people come to Christ.

We stayed at Camp Cone Oasis with Rick and Kim Hall. It was good to renew old friendships. They went on our first mission trip to Mexico and gave their life to serve Christ full time on the mission field.

We now prepare for our next trip to Mexico. We will be leaving July 15th and returning on the 23rd of July. We will be doing a Bible school in Kancabchen, Mexico. Please pray for our travel and Bible school.

Trip to Phonpei and Majuro 2012

By | Clowns for Christ, Ministry Updates, Missions

Dear Friends,

We are back from our trip to Pohnpei and Majuro two Islands in the Pacific. God blessed and we saw over 100 people ask Jesus to come into their heart. Many others turned their unconfused sin over to Jesus to forgive them. Others realized that they are special in God’s eyes. What a blessing to go on these trips and see God work.

While on the Island of Pohnpei we worked with missionary George Milgram. He set up the places to do our clown program and to preach. We shared Christ through 13 clown programs, 3 preaching times, and a hospital visit. Pray for George’s wife she has some health issues and plans on going back to be with her husband this summer.

While on the Island of Majuro we worked with missionary Brandon and Jackie Buck, who is principal of a Christian school. He and his wife also teach in the school. Their pastor and family were a blessing to our family. We shared Christ through 13 clown programs, 4 preaching times, and a hospital visit. They are looking for a couple of teachers for next year. If you or someone you know would be interested in doing a short-time mission trip of 10 months, contact us and we will put you in contact with the right person.

I want to share portions of several letters we received on our last trip. We received over 60 letters.

“Thank you for coming so we could know about Christ, I like it when you teach us about God and make our relationship better with God. You have taught me to ask God for forgiveness, and to tell others about God, I love it when you come and show us about God and how to cleanse our heart, thank you for telling me to open my heart to God, I know that I am special now, I never knew that before, I am a born again Christian because of you guys, Thank you for coming this week and sharing God with us. This week I have accepted Jesus as my Savior. I really admire you for your willingness to come and tell us about Jesus, you taught me that everything will be alright if I put my trust in Jesus, Miss Faye thank you for the message you brought at the Ladies Bible study. It just touched my heart and made me cry. I really needed to hear that message, Thank you for making me smile. Thank you for teaching me that I am special, I never felt that way before.”

Dear Faithful Friends,

What a blessing it is to serve the Lord. He will give you strength when you are tired and provide a means when He calls.

We have just returned from the Eastern Shore ministering to the Hispanics living there. We were off and running Saturday morning into the night visiting many the migrant camps and sharing the gospel. Souls were saved.

Clowns for Christ Newsletter – Roanoke trip

By | Clowns for Christ, Ministry Updates, Missions

Dear Friends,

We want to thank you for your prayers and gifts. We do not take this for granted. Your prayers and support are what allows us to share the Gospel to many nations to many people. Some of the places we go we are able to go in to public schools and other public places to share the Gospel where missionaries are not allowed to go.

We just got back from Roanoke, VA doing a clown ministry for fellowship Baptist. We held a day long conference for clowns. They have eight people who have started clowning, and wanted some training to help them in their ministry. We covered face painting, balloon making, clown costumes, clown face make up, skits, and illusions. They were a great group to work with and I am sure they will have a great ministry. We were honored to help them get started. You had a part in this.

We will leave in a week and half to go to the border of Mexico and Texas to work with missionaries Rick and Kim Hall. Rick and Kim went with us on our first trip to Mexico and God called them to full time service to the Mexican people. We will be doing a week long meeting while at their camp.

In the end of June we will be driving to Mexico in a van the church has given to a missionary in Mexico. We will then spend a week with the missionary Mike and Brenda Combs sharing God’s love through Clowning.

Please pray for these trips as it continues to be very dangerous traveling through Mexico. We serve a God who will protect us while we are doing His work.

We also need to put tires on the van (about $600.00), we also need to do about $300.00 worth of work on the van. We figure the trip will cost about $1,500.00 for gas, food, and lodging. We will also need to buy return tickets to fly back home.

If you help with the cost of these two trips we would be so grateful. Please cover this matter in pray for us.

Dear Friends,

We want to thank you for your support and prayers.

We just got back from Texas and had a great ministry. God blessed with 19 decisions. One teenager was called to the mission field. Several were saved, some for assurance of salvation, and some to deal with sin in their life.

It was good to see and minister again with our friends Rick and Kim Hall. Rick worked with us when we were working with the Youth Ministry at Temple Baptist Church. Rick and Kim went with us on our first Mission trip to Mexico and God called them to full time service on that trip. They have been serving God ever since. That was 19 years ago.

Last week we directed a Bible school at our home church Temple Baptist Church. We had a great week and saw 5 decisions. Two were for assurance of salvation and three for salvation. We had some of the greatest workers working with us in Bible School.

Deaths due to alcoholism take the form of magnesium, generic levitra uk iron, potassium, calcium and aluminum. We also will be delivering a love gift we collected last week at our Bible School to Pastor Martinez a missionary the Combs work with.

Clowns for Christ Mexico Trip June/July 2011

By | Clowns for Christ

Dear Faithful Friends,

We want to thank you for your prayers during our trip to Mexico. God saw us safely through as we traveled over 2000 miles!

God blessed us with new tires, and we had two mechanics look over the van before we left. We did have a slight miss, but we were assured it would be okay.  Between Abilene and Sweet Water, Texas, the van came to a dead stop.  The Lord is sovereign.  We came off at a truck stop and were able to locate a mechanic.  They took us to a motel and in less than 20 hours we were back on the road.  Right before we left, we received a check in the mail that would cover the repairs.  God is good all the time.  All the time God is good.

We crossed the border with no problems. The van crossed without a hitch.  However about 10 miles out, Brother Mike was stopped for speeding.  Again, God intervened.  No ticket was given, and we were on our way again.

Friday we went to the village where the missionary had been turned away twice in the last couple of years.  We didn’t know if we would be able to present the gospel or not.  We started face painting and balloon animals when the skies opened and the rain started to fall.  Satan thought he had won.  We went to a covered pavilion and many souls were saved.
Again, Satan thought he was going to have a victory, but God intervened.

We were late leaving for Parral so that threw everything behind. We went to the town square for a service, but there were no children.  A few came up and we did balloon animals and then we set up for a program.  However, the rain came.

A Mexican who spoke English started talking to Jimmie.  He talked for over an hour.  In the mean time, the rain stopped. We did our program, and 39 souls asked Jesus into their hearts.  PRAISE THE LORD!

Men of all age groups can use this drug as it comes with heritageihc.com cialis generika almost zero side effects. You can easily locate good and trustworthy online pharmacy heritageihc.com cheap soft cialis which would offer you the best quality of drugs in case of cheaper rates. Before testing, it detects in a person through the levitra ordering various symptoms it show. This medicine is used to treat a weakness, for instance, alprostadil as well as yohimbine, without having primary conversing with your spegeneric viagra t. Jimmie preached two services on Sunday; one in Jimenez and the other in Parral.  There was an 80 year old gentleman who accepted the Lord in Parral.  Praise God, He knows no age.

Yay!  Fourth of July- Fireworks- Picnic- Potato salad- NOT.  We did have a picnic with a special Mexican dish over an open flame.  Friends came over and we had fireworks, but no potato salad.

Tuesday we traveled to a migrant worker’s camp.  We were going to give out toys to the children, but God had other plans. It started to rain.  We gathered under a metal shed and shared the gospel.  In the end 14 souls were saved.  We were in the area where one of the preacher boys’ father-in-law was, so we stopped in to see him.  We told him we were planning on going to this other village.  He said, “No, it’s too dangerous.”  He told us that a gang known as Zeta was there and they would have taken the van and truck and robbed us.  Needless to say we returned to the ranch.  Thank you God.

Jimmie preached at LaFe Baptist Church Wednesday night.  We saw many old friends.  We then left at 3:05 Thursday morning headed home again.

We saw many souls saved.  We were able to take the $700 collected at Bible school to a missionary preacher at the Ranch. Then we delivered the van to Mike and Brenda Combs, one of the missionaries we support.

We want to thank you for your support and prayers at this time.  We will be taking other trips during the summer and fall. We covet your prayers as we seek to do whatever the Lord has for us.

In His Service,

Clowns for Christ

By | Clowns for Christ

As clowns, we spend a lot of time putting on our make-up and clothes to entertain those who come to see us perform. When we dress up as clowns we change our looks, personality and even the way we act.

There was a change that was more important than our changing into clowns.  That change was when Jesus Christ came into our lives.  He changed more than just our outside, He changed our hearts.  How about you? Have you had a change in your heart?  You can!

The Bible says in 1 John 5:13, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that you have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”  Would you like to know Jesus as your personal savior? Read the following verses and pray the prayer and He can change your life!

1. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
Everyone is a sinner – there are no exceptions.

2. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
Death means separation forever from God.  Eternal life comes from trusing Jesus Christ.

3. “But God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
God loved us as sinners so much that He gave His son to die for our sins.

4. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
To be born again, you must believe that Jesus died for your sins and declare that you accept Him as Lord of your life.

5. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
This is God’s promise to you that if you accept Jesus as Lord, He will accept you.

Call upon the Lord now as you pray this prayer:

Dear God, I know I have sinned by breaking your laws and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died for my sins. I want to be born again and receive new life in Him.  I will follow Jesus as my Lord and obey Him in all that I do. In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.

If you prayed this prayer or you have questions, let us know and we can give you additional help.

Dear Friends,

We first want to thank our Lord and Savior for all that He does.  We stand amazed at how He uses us in spite of our weaknesses.  We also thank Him for using a couple of clowns for His glory.

We are back from Mexico with great results for God’s glory.  We saw 21 people come to Christ while we were there.  We also gave out over a thousand tracts.  God has promised His word will not come back void.

We also had several chances to speak while there: Faye led a women’s Bible study, Jimmie preach in a church, we also trained a group at a church to do balloon animals, while donating balloons and pumps to the church. We also donated tracts, necklaces, and face painting supplies. We visited a Home Bible study and a prison ministry.  Each day we went to different areas and cities to do our clown ministry.
